Merion Station is one of the towns that make up the Main Line and neighbor to the city of Philadelphia. Merion Station and locally named Merion and Merion Park share the same zip code. Locals commonly understand that Merion Station is the neighborhood within walking distance to the Merion Train Station, Merion Park is the neighborhood near General Wayne Park and all other locations within 19066 are simply referred to as Merion. The National Register of Historical Places lists Merion’s the General Wayne Inn and Merion Friends Meeting House. The main commercial area of Merion Station is located along Montgomery Avenue it includes restaurants, gift shops and other stores, and local landmarks more than a half century old whose reputations extend well beyond Merion Station’s limits, notably Hymie’s Merion Delicatessen, The Tavern Restaurant, Murray’s Delicatessen, Babis’s Pharmacy, Bob Wark’s Liberty Service Station, Bala Pizza, and the Township Cleaners. The Paoli/Thorndale line offers an easy commute to Philadelphia.
