Wyndmoor is home to the site of Whitemarsh Hall, the 300-acre estate of banking executive Edward T. Stotesbury, once known as the ‘Versailles of America’. Whitemarsh Hall was demolished in 1980, and an entire community of modern townhouses now occupies the land of the former estate.
