Christie Jones: A Passion for Philly, Real Estate, and Community

Christie Jones: A Passion for Philly, Real Estate, and Community

Christie Jones grew up in Bethlehem, PA, and attended Michigan State University for College, where she played field hockey.

“After college, I was between two cities, Philadelphia and Las Vegas, says Christie! Through a turn of events, she moved to the city of Philadelphia and started coaching field hockey at Swarthmore College. There, she met Jennifer Rinela, who was a college coach as well and already a very successful real estate agent.

Christie and Jenn became good friends and professional counterparts. Christie helped assist Jenn and a few others in real estate for the next two years. Then went on to get licensed as a PA real estate agent. “I love real estate because I can work really hard and be rewarded with financial success as well as helping others.” “I also am not a 9-5 person,” “In the ten years I have been working in this career, I have never had the same day twice”, smiles Christie.

In 2016, Christie joined The Sivel Group. The professional atmosphere and mentorship here, along with their ties to the best communities in Philly, are what have kept her very content with this decision.

Christie loves the history that comes from working in such an old city. The historic homes that “tell a story” are the ones that bring joy to her days and contribute to her deep appreciation for her career path. “I love a home that can tell a story,” says Jones. “Philly homes can be old on the outside, but someone can update the interior, yet leave a mantle and a sink, and now the home has character… and it has a story.” “Philly commemorates that.”

8 months ago, a beautiful little baby girl named Lucy came into Christie and her husband Colin’s life. “Being a mom and a working professional, has only helped my business, says Christie. “ I am fortunate to have a lot of help, a lovely husband, and have become good at time management.” Being a mom has only blessed their lives in all the ways.

The 2025 market, as far as Christie can predict will continue to be unpredictable! Inventory will remain low, which is good for the sellers, and it will persist in a steady sellers’ market. When asked about home trends she sees that she loves for the new year, Christie spoke to the boldness in design that is back! “We are coming off the heels of everything having to be grey and white”, “Now we are seeing an elevated vintage style and color”, says Christie. Homes overall do very well when they are done and finished. People want to see what they’re buying and staged, completed homes always sell better.

Having a decade under her belt in this industry, Christie knows that it takes specific, small things to set yourself apart from the other agents. Picking up the phone and communicating seems like a simple task, but is often forgotten in today’s tech world. “I had excellent role models to shadow when I first got started,” “It gave me a really good base and a strong character”. Jones also considers herself to have very good rapport with other agents all around the Philadelphia area. This has helped her assist her clients to the best of her ability because everyone is in it for the right reasons, and that’s to help the buyers & sellers.

Her professionalism certainly stands out! She listens well, so in turn, she can help her clients find the perfect home, negotiate what’s important to them at closings, and move them toward the outcome they want.

One thing that is truly so apparent about Ms Jones, is her love for Philly and the surrounding communities! She is an avid sports fan, just coming off of EAGLES season and Superbowl win… Christie was infused by the love and connection that resonated throughout the city and its residents. “We have a good foundation here in Philly. There is a lot of love in a lot of the small communities and big things are happening in each of them.” “ I always suggest people get involved, because there is a lot of growth here in the city of Philadelphia, and we are ready for it! says Christie.

Her favorite restaurant at the moment is Laser Wolf, an Israeli restaurant in Philly. The store she finds herself in most at this phase of life is Born Yesterday in Rittenhouse or Nesting House in West Mt Airy. She looks forward to the Spring days right around the corner, where chilling outside at the Chestnut Hill Brewery with her hubby and baby, enjoying a cold brew and a fresh oven pizza, is on the horizon!

“This city and the community give me so much pride! I truly love what I do,” smiles Christie.
